Anchorage’s dining scene has been on the rise for the past several years. It offers up plenty of worldly flavors thanks to the city’s ethnic diversity. In addition, local favorites add must try dining experiences to the list.

1) Moose’s Tooth Pub and Pizzeria


Eating a pizza and drinking a beer in a cold nice place is one of the best memories you can have in Alaska. You cannot visit Anchorage without dining in this all-time favorite pub and pizzeria. They serve the best beer and pizza in town. The brews are amazing and the pizza flavorful. They have a variety of offerings for vegetarians too! You can tell that this is a really good place because it is always lively and packed. Just be prepared to wait! But oh, is it well worth it!

2) Glacier Brewhouse


If you are looking for the freshest, best tasting fish of your life, you might want to visit this gem where local and tourists flock. They have outstanding seafood, a great craft beer selection, surprisingly good wine selection and a very professional staff. Conveniently located on 5th Avenue in the heart of downtown, it’s no surprise that this is one popular dinner destination. Try the halibut when you go!

3) Jens’ Restaurant


Jen’s is a great find in Anchorage. This would probably be one of your favorite “nice places” to eat. Their service is top notch and consistently excellent. Their food is absolutely delicious, seafood is always fresh and the pepper steak is to die for! Ambience is welcoming and lovely, with lots of original whimsical artwork.

4) M.A.’s Gourmet Dogs


No list of places to eat in Anchorage would be complete without a nod to some reindeer sausage. Yes, you read it right, reindeer sausage! After hiking, biking, running and exploring your way around Anchorage, M.A’s is a must-stop. Perfect for a summer day on a stoop or park across the street, Reindeer dog is perfectly grilled on the outside and super juicy on the inside. This is definitely one of the best dogs you will ever eat in the world!
